The infamous Amsterdam 9 streets (nine streets Amsterdam) are widely known as one of the best areas in the city for chic shopping, delicious food, and stunning surroundings. This area is located in the Jordaan area of the city right along Amsterdam’s iconic canal belt.
It is also just a short distance from Dam Square. The nine streets are called de Negen Straatjes in Dutch and are the perfect place to wander around, window shop, explore local boutiques, find a unique item, or grab a place to eat.
This area and grouping of streets are one of my favourite places to bring people when they visit Amsterdam because of its unique offering and all the excitement it holds.
Even if you are not into shopping, you will surely find some type of store with items that excite you! The stores range from modern clothing stores to vintage clothing stores, to home decor shops, to jewelry shops, to record stores and beyond.

De 9 Straatjes – The Nine Streets Amsterdam
I’ll give you some background on the 9 streets, just in case you are confused about what this all means. The 9 streets in Amsterdam are a collection of 9 little streets that are boxed in by the Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, and Singel canals.
Thus resulting in nine little sections of streets full of shops and restaurants galore. The names of the 9 streets are displayed on the map below!

All The Luck in the World

Cinq is a local boutique that is full of colorful jewelry and accessories. Waling into this store may feel overwhelming by the amount of color and options, but once you get over the initial shock, it is very nice. The store is super feminine and you can find some really cute things here.

Episode is a second-hand clothing store that is great for finding unique pieces at a lower cost. If you are into thrifting this is the best place for you to head to.

Ree7

Ree7 is a cute cafe/restaurant located on the 9 streets. It is constantly busy because of its appealing exterior and tasty food. Here you can get pancakes, sandwiches, various drinks, and most importantly huge freak shakes! The freak shakes are one of the biggest reasons people visit Ree7 because of their ultra appealing look and delicious taste.

Pluk

Pluk is one of the most aesthetically please restaurants in Amsterdam. The inside is beyond instagrammable and the food is amazing. The best thing to get here is one of the treats from the sweets corner, such as the unicorn cupcake! Pluk also sells some items like mugs, postcards, passport cases and much more.
De Kaaskamer

Polaberry is a sweets lover’s dream place! Here you can find Amsterdam crafted chocolate bars, unicorn cake pops, and a huge assortment of chocolate-covered strawberries. If you are looking for a sweet treat or a unique chocolate bar to take home this is the place for you.
Pancakes Amsterdam

Van Puffelen

Van Puffelen is a delicious restaurant off the main 9 streets in its own little world. It is in a great location right in front of a canal and offers to seat outside. But, the best thing here isn’t the location, it is the food! They offer unique and delicious food options, and their gin and tonics are amazing!
Van Wonderen Stroop Wafels
- Location: Prinsengracht 455, 1016 HN Amsterdam
- Hours: 10 AM – 9 PM
When visiting Amsterdam you must get at least one stroopwafel. And the best place to get one on the 9 streets is Van Wonderen! Here they offer traditional stroopwafels plus you get to add your own special toppings. This is a fun twist on a tasty treat. Plus they look amazing and are fun to photograph.
The Nine Streets Amsterdam: Accommodation
The Hoxton
Located right along the canals of Amsterdam and right on the 9 streets. This is a lovely hotel that also has a nice cafe/restaurant in it. The Hoxton is one of the best places to stay in Amsterdam as it is a beautiful hotel and in a magnificent area.
Nine Streets Inn
Nine Streets Inn is a lovely Bed and Breakfast located in the heart of the 9 streets. This is the perfect location along the canal belt, right in the hottest shopping area of the city, and within walking distance of many attractions.
The 9 streets in Amsterdam are beautiful places to explore and discover. I highly urge you to visit them during your travels to Amsterdam , if not for the shopping and food, then to just see the stunning streets and canals.
