I have founda way to move your capitol into the colonies with out giving up your mainland.
The key to accomplishing this is Greenland since it is not a colonial province and not on the European continent.
Colonize Greenland (NA continent) State it then move your capitol there.
From this point you can Colonize South America and move your capitol there to get all the colonial reagions avaliable for expansion or you can just colonize NA, same continent wont spawn colonial nations.
Note: you can not move your capitol to a NA colonial reagion immediately from greenland sincew having green land stated and your target province stated makes 2 states therfore your capitol does not count as Isolated on it's continent.

There are a few New World provinces that aren't part of colonial nations. The Greenland ones, Bermuda, Falklands, South Georgia and Galapagos Islands I believe.

Another bug-fix that created other bugs/exploits... They were forced to removing Greenland from the CN list for the Norse achievement...

Using the same method you could just take one province in Africa as a European and move your capital there. After that you should be able to move it to a colonial region. This could be quicker as you can conquer the province, instead of having to wait for the colony to be fully established.

yup portugal has esentially an instant way to move their capital, just don't get a second core in africa move it there then move to brazil absolutely worth it too.
I just tested it out with Norway so Greenland was easier to get to.

If you are playing a OPM and have colonized a province or even just started a colony you can do this even quicker.
Declare war on someone who hasn't taken exploration early into the game and they'll demand your capital.
Accept their terms and your colony will become your capital.
Early in the game if they aren't a colonizer, they won't have the range to demand the colony.

The point is that you can do this with any nation really and don't have to give up your home land you can be france and move your capitol to the new world, that is a lot of terretory to be able to have as core instead of as a colony.

i wonder if something like this would work for a SEA nation wanting to move their capital to Australia, as i believe many of the small pacific islands, as well as Papua, are in the Oceania continent but not the colonial region of Australia.

Thing is that you need to wait the colony to finish if not using that trick.

If you cannot move your capital to another continent without being isolated, how can you move it to Greenland just to start?

it only has to be isolated to move to a colonial reagion there are no more restrictions in continental movement of capitols.
